Thirty-three days ago, Scott and I had the idea to engage the Lurker community in the content creation process. We asked everyone to offer an idea for what we should focus on in the next episode. We’d randomly choose one of the ideas, and then when we auctioned off that episode as an NFT, that person would get 50% of the proceeds, with everyone who offered an idea sharing 25%. This seemed to be a good way to surface interesting content and take advantage of Mirror’s economic tools to engage the Lurker community. And that’s the episode you are reading right now.
We’ve been lurking in the shadows for most of our lives. Biding our time. Waiting for our moment. Just chilling out, frankly. But also learning and growing stronger. Preparing to make our mark. But then deciding we can always make our mark tomorrow. “We’re here, aren’t we,” we tell ourselves. “Isn’t that enough?”
It’s an absolute lovefest in DAOs. Everyone in a DAO at this moment is in early to something that’s going to be big, big, big. That includes me, since I’m a member of some of them.Â
It's possible V says goodbye to Ethereum one day. He is a young man, full of surprises. Remember when he donated sixty trillion shiba coins to charity? The guy's brilliant, but he also likes to shake things up. The good news is, Ethereum could survive without him. But still, every project needs a leader of sorts, even if it isn't cool to say so in crypto.
Split-ROAST of Jess Sloss @thattallguy to Benefit Coin Center and Gitcoin
I've decided to roast several of the people I admire most in crypto, starting with Jess Sloss. Jess is the instigator of Seed Club and involved in many of the first social token and DAO projects. Since I mostly don't know the people I've selected to roast, I'll be roasting their twitter feeds.
Today I'm casting my 1050 votes for @JO7eth in Mirror's $WRITE Race
I've decided to cast all of my votes each week to one contestant. That contestant will be someone who has a burning desire to write and has something to say. They gotta be hungry and ready to burn it up on Mirror. I'll also make that contestant a contributor to Conway's Corner and invite them to write a post to be published the day of the vote.
Thank you to Dan Conway for the opportunity to share this essay on Mirror as a contributor to Conway's Corner, and also for his support of my entry in $WRITE RACE.
OK, a click-batey title, I know. But that's the point. There is so much big-brainy stuff on Mirror. It's great. Technical breakthroughs. Mind-blowing futures stuff. Robots explaining Metaverse strategems that they're leading. I actually love it all.
